SOUTH ORANGE COUNTY BOYS FROM AZARIAN U.S. GYMNASTICS TRAINING CENTER SWEEP ARIZONA FLAIRS INVITATIONAL |
| Local boys from the Azarian US Gymnastics Training Center in Aliso Viejo, took the Arizona Flairs Invitational by storm. Boys from the top Gymnastics Centers in Arizona, as well as several Gymnastics Centers from California, competed at the Arizona Flairs Invitational held at the University of Arizona in Tempe Arizona, Saturday, January 28th, 2006. This was the 25th anniversary of the Arizona Flairs Invitational. The Azarian Boys Team swept the event by taking first place in every level. This has been quiet a year for our local boys, who just last week also swept the San Diego team Cup in levels, 5, 6 and 7. “I am so proud of these boys”, says Eduard Azarian Head Coach and former World Champion and Olympic Gold Medal Winner. “These boys have been training hard all year and now their efforts are paying off.” Junior Olympic gymnasts competed Levels 4-10 for top honors. Top performances in Level 5 included; 1st All-Around Marty Strech, and 2nd All-Around DJ Corpuz. In Level 6 ages 8-11; 1st All-Around – Kevin Tran, 2nd All-Around Brion Kerry, and 3rd All-Around Jeremiah Delayo. In Level 6 ages 12+; 1st All-Around Joshua Uberti and 3rd All-Around Conor Murphy. In Level 7 all age divisions; 1st All-Around Mitchell Schusler and 3rd All-Around Zachary Mancini. In Level 8 all age divisions; 1st place All-Around Steven LaCombe, 3rd place All-Around Alex Goodman, and 4th place All-Around Andrew Duron. In Level 9 all age divisions; 2nd place All-Around Cody Froelich. In Level 10 all age divisions; 2nd place All-Around Donothan Bailey, 2nd place All-Around Jimmy Kerry, and 6th place All-Around Sean Reilly. The outstanding Orange County boys who represented the Azarian USGTC team were: From Fountain Valley; Martin Strech, Drew Morgan, Tyler Schoon, Kevin Tran, Christian Litton, Joshua Uberti, Keith Morgan, and Zachary Mancini. Upcoming National Level Invitational the Azarian Team will compete in the Black Jack Invitational in Las Vegas, Nevada February 3-5, and Palm Tree Classic hosted by Azarian US Gymnastics Training Center February 18-20, at Soka University in Aliso Viejo.
